A New Title For The Blog

Hi, friends and family! Since I've invited so many new people to my blog I thought I would change it up a little bit. Lately the blog has consisted of me writing about Nataleigh and how she changes from month to month. Along with a few posts on the new baby's progress. I think for now I'm going to share a photo or two along with a little post about that particular day's adventure/highlight. I'm not going to make this a "photo a day" blog just so that pressure isn't there but to keep you updated as much as possible in a fun way. I love pictures and this is a way to do that :)
So here's to a new blog title...

For the first time today I made Chris's grandma's recipe for pizza crust. It was very easy, cheap and fun. We try not to eat much bread around here so when we do it's special. Last month I tried out a new recipe for homemade cinnamon rolls and those were yummy...I'll make sure not to make those too often! It would be dangerous! ;)

The dough spread out ready for the toppings...

Welcome Family and Friends!

For a lot of you this is probably your first time at my family blog. So glad you are here and we can stay in touch! It was time for me to get rid of FB for a lot of reasons.
Love you all!

30 weeks

This week began meeting with my midwife every 2 weeks. Everything was great! Baby's growing great and has a healthy heartbeat. I was glad they did not do an ultrasound like they did at this point when I saw an OB with Nataleigh. (to check positioning and fluid)...in my opinion it's not necessary! Our midwife just felt to see how the baby was positioned (head down) and that was it!
Here's a picture at 30 weeks 5 days:

Bed transition

Well, this has been an interesting week but a good one! I'm def. thankful for choosing to do Babywise/Toddlerwise principles with Nataleigh after seeing her adjustment from crib to bed at 20 months 3 weeks.
The first night was great! She went right to sleep. The second day was her first nap time in her bed and after a couple times of going in there and reminding her this was nap time she was quickly off to sleep. That night started off great but at 4:30 she woke up vomiting :( So that whole entire next day was not a normal day, poor baby. I was interested to see what she would do that night in bed but once again she was out quickly. The next day she was fully better and had a somewhat "normal" day, napping just fine in her big girl bed. The rest of the week has gone great! Yes!!! So thankful for this being a somewhat easy transition! Of course I've stressed out WAYYY too much about this but I'm thankful to be where we are thus far! ;)

Goodbye, crib

Nataleigh is at the end of 20 months and the baby will be here anytime in the next 2 or so months. It was time to transition her out of the crib so she was adjusted before the new baby came. I think it's been tougher so far on mommy than on her :) We started last night and she fell right to sleep. I, of course was up with every peep she made (yes, we are STILL using the monitor until we feel more comfortable with her in the big girl bed)
We gave her a twin bed because this is what was most practical for our family.
She's napping soundly right now, after going in a couple of times to remind her it was nap time :)
The baby's room/guest room has everything in it...just needs painted and put all together. I will blog when we are finished with it! It feels so good with this nesting mommy to have the room transition almost completed! ;)

20 months!!!

I can't believe I just typed 20 months!!! Our baby girl is 20 months...wow...tear :( These days go by so quickly. I'm trying to not let them slip away.
Nataleigh is becoming such a big girl!
Here are some things I've noticed over the past month:
1. She's talking more
2. She's understanding more-One thing I noticed are her associations with people. She knows who so and so's mom and dad are, etc.
3. She's signing even more than she was and I believe through watching these Signing Time videos she has picked up on words that she may not have otherwise.
4. She has a VERY low pain tolerance.
5. She's gotten 4 more teeth (her eye teeth on top and bottom)
6. She's very compassionate, sensing when others around her are hurt, sad, crying and wants to help.
7. She's become a huge helper (taking little crumbs to the trash can, bringing clothes to me while I fold laundry, etc)
8. Is VERY social.

We are preparing more and more for our new addition. At the end of this month we are moving Nataleigh out of her crib and giving her a new bed (twin). We will be removing all the baby things from her room (just wish part of that was her diapers...we are so ready to have her potty trained)

Here are a few pics:

Yes, Nataleigh that's what I think about all this snow too!!
